VIEW IT

When designing in 3D, it helps to see your shapes from all sides. The ViewCube lets you change your view.

Left click and drag anywhere on the ViewCube in the upper left corner to see how it changes your point of view.

You can also click different areas of the ViewCube like corners and edges. Try clicking different areas of the ViewCube.

Move Each Box

When you move a shape up or down you're moving it along on the Z-axis.
Select a box shape to highlight it.
Click and hold the arrow icon on the top of the selected shape to lift it off the Workplane and into the hints.

ROTATING EACH BOX

Select a Box by left clicking on the shape. This will enable the shape handles.

Rotate your view to get the best view of the curved rotation handles.

Use the curved arrows to rotate each shape 45 degrees to match the hint.

Repeat the rotation for any extra shapes that may be there until all match the hint.

EXTENDING EACH BOX

Select a Box by left clicking on the shape. This will enable the shape handles.

Use the black handles on the bottom edge of each shape to size the shape in a single direction.

Use the white handles on the bottom corners to size in two directions at once.

DUPLICATING THE SHAPES

The duplicate command has a special feature that remembers changes you make and reapplies them to each instance of the duplication.

Once a duplicated shape has been placed you can move or modify the duplicated shape, then press the duplicate icon again to create another copy with the changes applied again.

While it is selected, Make a change to the duplicated shape (move, stretch, etc.)

Press the Duplicate icon again (or ctrl+D / ⌘+D) and see the changes applied to each instance of the duplication.

Continue pressing the Duplicate icon to create a pattern with the duplicates.

SHAPE ALIGNMENT

Select all the Box shapes by holding SHIFT on the keyboard and left clicking on each Box shape.

Shapes you have selected will be outlined in a blue color.

With all shapes selected, click the Align button on the right side of the top toolbar

The Align handles will appear around the shapes.

Hover your mouse over each of the black alignment handles to see a preview of the alignment.
